- Maintain consistency.
- Be wary of the word ‘ensure’
- Reword sentences that start with ambiguous pronouns like ‘this, that, those,’ e.t.c
- Address the reader directly with ‘You’
- Avoid the use of auxiliary verbs like ‘will, has, would, could, shall,’ e.t.c, and its ‘to be’ variants
- Cut out unnecessary prepositions
- Eliminate wordy introductory phrases
- Give concrete, and specific instructions. Make sure to answer the ‘who, what, how’ of each instruction
- Remove ‘Of’ when it is used to show possession in sentences
- Remove phrases like ‘who is’, ‘which is’, ‘that is’ …
- Have mercy on ‘So’
- Use inline styles to offset important text
- Eliminate repetition and redundancies
